Elderberry Syrup Kit
Elderberry Syrup Kit
Some of the best remedies begin in the kitchen.
Our Elderberry Syrup Kit was created to bring a traditional herbal preparation into the home, combining the comforting ritual of simmering herbs with the satisfaction of making something yourself.
Inspired by generations of home herbalists, this kit includes carefully measured dried botanicals that you transform syrup using water and a sweetener of your choice.
A little time at the stove, the aroma of warming spices, and a jar of homemade elderberry syrup ready for the refrigerator.
Ingredients
Our DIY elderberry syrup kit contains dried elderberries, rose hips, cinnamon, ginger, orange peel, and cloves. Each kit provides premeasured botanicals for preparing approximately 16–20 oz of homemade syrup when combined with water and honey or another sweetener.
The finished syrup offers a rich berry flavor balanced with bright citrus and warming spices. Created for those who enjoy traditional herbal preparations, seasonal wellness rituals, and making their own botanical products at home.
Water, honey, and other sweeteners are not included.
Flavor Profile
Rich Berry • Warm Cinnamon • Bright Citrus • Gentle Ginger • Aromatic Spice
Instructions
Empty the entire contents of the Elderberry Syrup Kit into a saucepan.
Add 4 cups of water.
Bring to a boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer.
Simmer uncovered for approximately 45–60 minutes, until the liquid has reduced to about 2 cups.
Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool enough to handle safely.
Strain thoroughly through a fine-mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth, removing all berries, seeds, and other plant solids.
Discard the strained botanicals.
Allow the liquid to cool until warm, not hot.
Stir in ½–1 cup of honey or preferred sweetener until fully dissolved.
Transfer to a clean glass jar or bottle.
Refrigerate immediately.
Important: Never consume the dried elderberries directly from the kit. They must be thoroughly cooked, and all solids must be removed before consumption. Do not use this preparation if the berries remain undercooked.
Finished Yield
Approximately 16–24 fluid ounces, depending on the amount of liquid recovered and sweetener added. For a target of 16–20 oz, adjust the reduction and sweetener quantity accordingly. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
